Introduction to The 12 Guideposts with Kurt Naebig:
In this lecture, Kurt talks about the job of the actor, the process of auditioning and then moves into a discussion of Michael Shurtleff's Guideposts, markers that help the actor with script analysis, leading to active, personal, relational choices.
Required for all new students and free to the public. Just call for a reservation.

Level I Introduction to Shurtleff:
|
|
Start your training by building a solid foundation. The Shurtleff method teaches a tangible set of skills, giving the actor a practical way to work. This class focuses on Relationship and Action using a combination of exercises, improvisation and neutral scenes. Scene work will be introduced during the final 2 weeks of class. This fundamental acting class is essential for those aspiring to work on stage or in film/tv. |

Now you’re ready to dive into the world of the play! During the first 6 weeks of class, students will work on 2 scenes. By reading the entire script, memorizing, rehearsing, working with props and costume, the student will deepen their understanding of specificity and personalization. Material will be from American playwrights; Shanley, Mamet & Gilman. During the last 2 weeks each student will be assigned a contemporary monologue and learn the “art of auditioning."
PREREQUISITE: Level 1 & 2 or Permission of Instructor

Voice with Kate DeVore:
|
|
This 1-day workshop is designed for actors of all levels who need to work on their vocal instrument. Work with Kate DeVore to free your voice through an exploration of physicality, breathing, sound and resonators using eclectic techniques, including those of Linklater, Lessac and Rodenburg. Kate will also coach your monologue from a vocal perspective, providing you with specific suggestions to continue working on your own. You will leave with a vocal warm up and knowledge of how to maintain a healthy vocal instrument. This class is appropriate for beginners or working professionals.

Designed for the professional, this unique class gives actors the opportunity to work with a variety of directors and directing styles. Each actor works on 4 scenes with 4 of the 8 directors. Past directors have included: Amy Morton – Steppenwolf, Henry Godinez – Goodman, Michael Halberstam – Writers, Dads – Freelance, James Bohnen – Remy Bumppo.

This two day intensive workshop working with casting directors Erica Daniels, from Steppenwolf, and Adam Belcuore, from The Goodman, will help bring a professionalism to your audition process.
